Background: Physical exercise has been lengthy acknowledged for its therapeutic effects on depressive disorders, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. In the research, we investigated whether the physical train by voluntary wheel running (VWR) alters depression-like behaviors and its influence on brain Blood Vitals oxygen stage-dependent (Bold) alerts in mice. Ex. The differences in practical mind adjustments were determined by Bold purposeful magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Results: The outcomes confirmed that VWR train considerably reversed the CUMS-induced behavioral abnormalities. Base on the fMRI amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) evaluation, we found that VWR train could restore the CUMS-induced excessive Bold activation in parts of limbic system, equivalent to cortex, hippocampus and corpus callosum. Furthermore, CUMS-induced Bold suppressive regions have been additionally partially attenuated by VWR train, similar to amygdala, cerebellum anterior lobe, thalamus, midbrain, and pontine. Most of these regions are involved in mood-regulating circuit, suggesting dysfunction of the circuit in CUMS model of depression, and VWR train may regulate the mood-regulating circuit.
